Suh Wins Lady Gamecock Individual Title

BLYTHEWOOD, South Carolina - Furman sophomore Jenny Suh (Fairfax, Va.) claimed her first collegiate title on Sunday with a three-round 224 at the Lady Gamecock Invitational. In addition, the Furman squad carded a final round 311 to finish second as a team, 10 strokes off the winning pace of the University of New Mexico.

Suh entered the final round one stroke behind Kailin Downs and Caroline Rominger and posted a three-over 75 to win by three strokes. Suh tied for first at the Southern Conference Championship as a freshman, but lost in a playoff to teammate Sarah Johnston. She went on to earn All-Region and honorable mention All-America last season.

In addition to Suh's 75 on Sunday, the Lady Paladins counted a 78 by sophomore Theresa Paik, and a pair of 79s by Sarah Sturm and Connor Atkinson. Monique Gesualdi was the Lady Paladins non-counter with an 80, but finished tied for 19th in the individual standings. In all, three Furman players finished in the top 20.

The Lady Paladins return to action March 25-27 at the Liz Murphey Invitational in Athens, Ga.
