Lady Paladins In Fourth at Lady Gamecock

BLYTHEWOOD, South Carolina - Furman's Lady Paladin golf team tied Virginia for the low round of the day Saturday at the Lady Gamecock Invitational, firing a 311 to remain in fourth place at 53 over par. The University of New Mexico is in the lead, eight strokes ahead of Furman.

Sophomore Jenny Suh carded a one-over par 73 on Saturday and is in third individually, one stroke off the individual lead, while freshman Sarah Sturm followed up a first-round 82 with a 75 and is in 10th at 157. Monique Gesualdi shot a second-round 81 and is in 13th place at 159, while Connor Atkinson is in 35th at 164 after a second consecutive 82. Theresa Paik was the non-counter on Saturday with an 83 at the par 72 University Club, and is in 42nd place at 165.

The third and final round of the Lady Gamecock Invitational is slated for Sunday. Furman's last victory in the Lady Gamecock came in 1993, while Kristel Mourgue d'Algue took medalist honors.
