Knoxville, Tenn. -- Furman’s Stefanie Kenoyer (74-75-73=222) carded a final round 73 to finish with a share of 13th place and help Furman to a 16th place finish on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Women’s Championship at the par-72 Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn.
Kenoyer, ranked 10th in the latest Golfstat Collegiate Cup standings, shot her low round of the tournament, including a pair of birdies on the back nine, to score her fourth top-15 finish in as many outings this fall. The Paladins struggled to a 16th place finish in the 18-team field after posting a 24-over 312 during the final round.
Tennessee’s Nathalie Mansson (71-71-71=213) claimed individual medalist honors after outlasting Louisville’s Laura Anderson (72-70-71=213) in a five-hole sudden death playoff. Mansson’s performance helped the 18th-ranked Lady Vols (283-291-294=868) cruise to a 19-stroke victory over Louisville. South Carolina finished in third place with Kent State and Wake Forest rounding out the top five.
The Mercedes-Benz field includes 13 teams ranked in the top 50, including nine of the top 25 teams in the country. The field also includes 27 of the top 100 ranked individuals in the nation.
