Furman Fires Second Round 302 At Mercedes-Benz Collegiate

Knoxville, Tenn. -- Furman carded a second round 302 Saturday to move into tenth after two rounds of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn.

The Lady Paladins (307-302=609) are just ten strokes out of fourth place and 21 strokes behind leader Auburn entering Sunday morning's final round. Georgia hold second place after two round only four shots back of Auburn.

Senior Monique Gesualdi paced the Lady Paladins in the second round with a two-oveer 73 to move herself into a tie for 30th. Blair Lamb (81-74=152) bounced back from a tough opening round to record a three-over 74 while fellow sophomore Kathleen Ekey (72-78=150) contiues to lead Furman at eight over through two rounds.

Lacey Jones (67-73=140) of SMU holds the individual lead after 36 holes at two under par.

Final round action is scheduled to tee off Sunday morning.
