Northwestern Sweeps Honors At Lady Paladin Invitational

Greenville, S.C. -- Northwestern (302-303-307=912) took first place with a 12 stroke advantage over Memphis and the Wildcats' Alice Kim (70-70-76=216) finished at even par to grab individual honors Sunday at the 54-hole Lady Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Golf Course.

Northwestern extended a 10 stroke second round lead with a solid 307 in Sunday's final round. Kim, the leader after each of the first two round, carded a final round 76 to edge Araceli Felfueroso (70-74-74=218) of Coastal Carolina by two strokes.

Stacey Tate of Memphis posted the low round of the tournament on Sunday with a three-under par 69 to claim third place while Furman's Kathleen Ekey (76-73-75=224) took fourth place honors. The Lady Paladins totaled a final round 318 on a windy and overcast day to place eighth.

Furman returns to action October 13-15, at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships in Knoxville, Tenn.
