Charleston, S.C. -- Freshman Stefanie Kenoyer carded a one-under par 71 to guide Furman to a six-over par 294 team score in round two of the Cougar Classic Monday morning at Yeaman's Hall Golf Club in Charleston, S.C.
Kenoyer (76-71=147), playing in just her second round of collegiate golf, recorded six birdies to move into a tie for 26th. Junior Blair Lamb (76-72=148) overcame a late double bogey to shoot even par and remain one stroke behind Kenoyer at four-over for the tournament, while freshman Jaclyn Hilea (75-75=150) posted her second straight 75 to hold a share of 42nd place at six-over par.
Furman enters final round action tied with 19th-ranked Texas A&M for 10th place at 20-over par. Tennessee (288-288=576) leads the tournament by three strokes having fired back-to-back even par rounds. So-Hyun Park (70-69=139) of Notre Dame holds a one stroke advantage among the 103 individual competitors.
The tournament field of 20 teams includes 10 of the top 45 ranked teams in the nation. Final round action in the 54-hole event hosted by the College of Charleston is set for Tuesday morning.
