Carr Grabs 11th After Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic First Round

Athens, Ga. -- Freshman Corrine Carr notched an opening round 74 to help Furman to a share of 12th place after Friday's action at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the University Club in Athens, Ga.

Carr registered one birdie, four bogeys and 13 pars during her first round to post her second best single round effort of the season.

The Lady Paladins carded a first round 312 to share 12th with Florida State. Furman sits 19 strokes back of first place Auburn, but just 12 shots behind third place Florida and Arkansas. Louisiana State's Melissa Eaton took the individual lead in the 54-hole event with a one-under par 70 on Friday.

Round two is set for 8 a.m. Saturday with final round action slated for Sunday morning.
