Ekey Finishes Third, Lady Paladins Ninth At Papa John's Collegiate.

Miami, Fla. -- Furman's Kathleen Ekey carded a final round 74 to finish third at the Papa John's Collegiate Championship Tuesday morning at the Don Shula Golf Club. The Lady Paladins final round 311 earned a ninth place finish.

Ekey (79-76-74=229), a native of Wadsworth, Ohio, finished 13-over par and three shots off of the pace set by individual champion Cindy LaCrosse (73-81-72=226) of Louisville.

Senior Theresa Paik recovered from a first round 86 to finish strong with a final round four-over 76. Paik and fellow Lady Paladin Monique Gesualdi placed in a tie for 31st at 23 over par.

Louisville (308-313-303=924) claimed team honors by two strokes over San Jose State. Furman (329-310-311=950) completed the three-round event 26 strokes of the lead.

The Lady Paladins return to action March 16-18, at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic in Baton Rouge, La.
