Ekey Paces Lady Paladins At Papa John's Collegiate

Miami, Fla. -- The Furman women's golf team opened the spring season shooting a first round 329 at the Papa John's Collegiate Golf Championships at Don Shula's Golf Club on Sunday.

Sophomore Kathleen Ekey led the 10th place Lady Paladins with a seven over par 79 to earn a share of 14th after the opening round.

Louisville grabbed the first round team lead with a 308 while the Cardinals' Cindy LaCrosse fired a 73 to take the individual lead.

Monday's second round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
