Rhéaume Paces Paladins In Second Day Of PING/ASU Invitational

PHOENIX, ARIZ. -- Sarah-Eve Rhéaume (+5) carded a 73 to lead the 20th-ranked Furman women's golf team (+15) Saturday at the PING/ASU Invitational at the par 72, 6,430 yard Papago Golf Course in Phoenix, Ariz.

A freshman from Lac-Delage, Canada, Rhéaume birdied three out of four holes from No. 10 through No. 13, including back to back birdies on No. 10 and No. 11 to shoot a one-over 73 in the tournament's second round.  She enters Sunday's final round in a tie for 38th.

Senior Jacqueline Bendrick (+1) is tied for 16th to lead Furman going into the last round.  On Saturday, she notched a team-high four birdies with consecutive birdies on No. 16 and No. 18, recording a 74.  Senior Haylee Harford (+4) added a 74 with a birdie on No. 9 in round two to tie for 31st, and junior Natalie Srinivasan is tied for 38th after two rounds after scoring a 77 with a birdie on No. 9 on Saturday.  Sophomore Madison Moosa (+9) carded a 77 with birdies on No. 2 and No. 6 to tie for 58th.

Junior Marra Burton (+20), who is playing as an individual, tallied a 79 with birdies on No. 10 and No. 12.  She enters the final round in 83rd place.

Top-ranked Andrea Lee (-7) of Stanford continues to lead the field for the second day.  She holds a one-stroke lead after posting scores of 67-70=137 in the first two rounds of play.

Fourth-ranked Stanford (-5) holds a one-stroke lead over No. 16 Arizona State (-4) for the second-consecutive day.  Three teams are tied for third place, including top-ranked Southern Cal (+4), No. 17 Northwestern (+4), and No. 21 Oklahoma (+4).  The Paladins (+15) are tied for eighth with fifth-ranked UCLA (+15).

The 54-hole tournament will conclude on Sunday starting at 7:30 a.m. MST.  Furman will tee off on No. 1 beginning at 7:30 a.m. and will play in a group with Oregon and UCLA.  Live tournament scoring will also be available via http://www.golfstat.com.
