Furman's Harford Ties For Eighth At Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Senior Haylee Harford (-3) tied for eighth to lead the 11th-ranked Furman women's golf team this weekend at the 43rd Annual Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational at the par 72, 6,379 yard UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Harford, who hails from Leavittsburg, Ohio, and ranks fourth nationally, carded a final-round 74 with birdies on No. 9 and No. 14 to finish eight strokes behind individual medalist Emilia Migliaccio (-11) of Wake Forest who won the tournament with a three-day total of 67-68-70=205.

Junior Natalie Srinivasan (+5) tied for 29th after posting a team-high three birdies and a 77 on Sunday, while freshman Kyra Cox (+12), who also paced the team with three birdies, including consecutive birdies on No. 16 and No. 17, rallied with a final-round 73 to tie for 62nd.  

Senior Jacqueline Bendrick (+15) finished the tournament in 70th place after scoring an 81 with a birdie on No. 3 on Sunday, while sophomore Caitlin Cotterill (+22) recorded birdies on No. 5 and No. 13 in the final round, posting a 78 and placing 91st.

Duke (-14) won the tournament by six strokes over Virginia (-8), and Arkansas (-5) placed third.  South Carolina (+2) concluded the tournament in fourth place, and Wake Forest (+4) completed the top five.  Furman (+26) tied for tenth.  

Furman will conclude the fall season at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C., October 26-28.
