STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Senior Alice Chen (+3) carded a 74 Saturday to finish the morning wave in a tie for 27th following round two of the 2018 NCAA Championships at the par-72, 6,328 yard Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla.  The seventh-ranked Paladins (+29) are in the clubhouse in 14th place with 12 teams still out on the course.

Chen, who hails from Princeton, N.J., made the turn at one-under after notching birdies on No. 1 and No. 5 then added an additional birdie on No. 17 to finish the day two-over.  Following the morning wave, Arizona's Bianca Pagdanganan (-5) and Cheyenne Knight (-5) of Alabama are tied for the individual lead with a two-day total of 139.

Sophomore Natalie Srinivasan (+7) and junior Haylee Harford (+11) each shot even par to pace the Paladins on Saturday.  Srinivasan recorded three birdies on the back, including consecutive birdies on her last two holes, to move into a tie for 56th, while Harford, who led Furman with four birdies in round two, is tied for 93rd.

Senior Reona Hirai (+9) carded a 75 with birdies on No. 4 and No. 9 in round two and sits in a tie for 73rd, while senior Jacqueline Bendrick (+13) tallied three birdies, including back-to-back birdies on No. 8 and No. 9, to finish the round at 75 in a tie for 108th.

Following the morning wave of teams, No. 3 UCLA (-3) holds a five-stroke lead over second-ranked Alabama (+2).  No. 6 Southern Cal is (+13) third, followed by No. 16 Kent State (+16), ninth-ranked Arizona (+16), and No. 13 Northwestern (+16)  in a tie for fourth.

The Paladins are part of a 24-team field which is playing under the NCAA Championship's revised format, which was instituted in 2015.  The teams will play 54 holes of stroke play over the course of three days, which began Friday and will continue through Sunday.  The top 15 teams will then play one additional round of stroke play on Monday, May 21.  The top eight teams at the end of Monday's round will move into the match-play single elimination bracket.  Tuesday will feature the quarterfinals and semifinals, and the finals will be played Wednesday afternoon.

Furman, which secured the Southern Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by capturing its 17th SoCon Championship last month at Moss Creek Country Club on Hilton Head Island, S.C., finished third last week at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional to earn a berth at the NCAA Championship.  The Paladins finished 12th at least season's NCAA Championship in Sugar Grove, Ill.

Twelve and a half hours of live event programming will be shown starting on Monday, May 21, and concluding with the match play finals on Wednesday afternoon.
