GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The seventh-ranked Furman women's golf team will compete at the SunTrust Women's Gator Invitational this weekend at the par 70, 6,002 yard Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.
The 54-hole tournament begins with a shotgun start Saturday at 8 a.m. Teams will play two rounds on Monday, with the second round immediately following the conclusion of round one. The tournament will conclude with an 9:00 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday.
Furman will be joined in the 13-team field by host Florida, which is ranked 12th nationally, Campbell, Clemson, Daytona State, Florida International, North Texas, Ole Miss, Oregon, Southern Miss, Tennessee, UCF, and USF.
The Paladin lineup for the SunTrust Women's Gator Invitational includes seniors Jacqueline Bendrick, Alice Chen and Reona Hirai, junior Haylee Harford, and sophomore Natalie Srinivasan. Sophomore Marra Burton will compete as an individual.
Furman moved up two spots in the national rankings after last weekend's sixth-place finish at the prestigious Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. Srinivasan leads the Paladins with a 72.2 stroke average over 17 rounds this season, while Harford ranks second with a 72.8 stroke average over 17 rounds.
Admission to the tournament is free and fans are welcome. Live tournament scoring will also be available via www.golfstat.com.
