OXFORD, MS. -- Sophomore Taylor Totland (+3) rallied with a final-round 69 to tie for 13th, and the 15th-ranked Furman women's golf team finished fourth Sunday in the final round of the Rebel Intercollegiate at the par 72, 6,210 yard Ole Miss Golf Course in Oxford, Miss.

Totland, a native of Tinton Falls, N.J, entered the final round tied for 33rd place then scored five birdies on Sunday, including back-to-back birdies on No. 2 and No. 3, to move up 20 spots on the leader board.  She finished the round 11 strokes back of individual medalist Josee Doyon (-4) of Kent State, who tied the tournament record for the lowest individual 54-hole total at 208.

Freshman Alice Chen (+5) tied for 18th overall after scoring a 77 on Sunday, while rookie Reona Hirai (+6) added a 75 with two birdies in the final round to tie for 25th.  Senior Laura DeMarco (+10) recorded three birdies for an even 72 on Sunday, tying for 41st, and freshman Jacqueline Bendrick (+12) birdied No. 7 and No. 14 to tie for 50th after carding an 82 in the final round.

19th-ranked Texas A&M (-6) won the tournament in record fashion, posting a three-round total of 858, the lowest 54-hole score in tournament history, while #18 Kent State (-3) placed second at 861, recording the second-lowest 54-hole total in tournament history.  #10 Tennessee (+5) finished third, while the Paladins (+11) took fourth, and Fresno State (+13) completed the top five.

"Overall, I'm pleased with our scores at the Rebel Intercollegiate," said Furman head coach Kelley Hester.  "Taylor bounced back after a tough first round for another top-15 performance.  Everyone contributed and had some highlights this week.  In comparison to last year, we moved up from ninth to fourth and shaved 15 strokes.  I definitely feel like we are headed in the right direction as we head into the post season."

Furman will compete at the Southern Conference Championships April 12-14 in Savannah, Ga.
