Furman’s Rancourt Moves Into Second Place At SoCon Championship

Hilton Head Island, S.C. – Furman's Alexa Rancourt (78-74=152) carded a second round 74 on Monday to move into a tie for second place at the Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship at the par-72 Moss Creek Golf Club.

Rancourt, who is tied with Chattanooga's Jordan Britt at eight-over and trails leader Emma de Groot (+1) of the Lady Mocs by seven strokes, birdied two of her first three holes on Monday and erased the disappointment of a double bogey at No. 6 by carding a hole-in-one at the par three, No. 7.

Seniors Stefanie Kenoyer (+14) and Jackie Hilea (+16) each shot six-over 78 on Monday.  Hilea, a native of Kaneohe, Hawaii, recovered from a 42 on the front nine to shoot 36 on the back nine with three birdies.

The Paladins (+55) enter the final round 23 strokes behind tournament leader Chattanooga (+32).  College of Charleston (+49) is in second place with UNC Greensboro five strokes behind the Cougars in third place.

Final round action is set for Tuesday morning.  Live scoring will be available at www.FurmanPaladins.com and www.GolfStatResults.com.
