Paladins In Fourth At SoCon Women’s Golf Championship

Hilton Head Island, S.C. – Sophomore Alexa Rancourt's 78 helped Furman into fourth place after 18 holes in Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship on Sunday at the par-72 Moss Creek Golf Club.

Rancourt, a native of Portland, Maine, birdied two of her final eight holes to card an even par 36 on the back nine and earn a share of 11th place.  She is four strokes behind tournament leader Emma de Groot (+2) of Chattanooga.

The Paladins (+32) are 17 strokes off of the first round pace set by No. 35 Chattanooga (+15).  UNC Greensboro (+23) currently holds second place with College of Charleston (+25) two strokes behind in third place following round one.

Round two of the SoCon Championship is set for Monday morning with Furman set to tee-off beginning at 9:40 a.m.  Final round action is set for Tuesday.
