Paladins Fire Final Round 294 At Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic

Athens, Ga. – The Furman women's golf team fired a final roud 294 on Sunday to place 20th in the 39th Annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the par-72 University of Georgia Golf Course.

Senior Jackie Hilea, a native of Kaneohe, Hawaii, led Furman's final round effort with a four-over 76.  Stefanie Kenoyer carded a 77 while Alexa Rancourt and Laura Wearn each shot six-over 78 on Sunday.

The Paladins (+41) used their six-over 294 to claim 20th place in the 23-team field that included 19 of the top 40 women's golf teams in the nation.  The University of Alabama (-4), with a final round 283, claimed first place finishing eight strokes ahead of second place Duke (+4) and Purdue (+4).

The University of Georgia's Marta Silva Zamora (-4) shot a final round 67 to edge Arkansas' Emily Tubert (-2) for individual medalist honors.

Furman returns to action in two weeks when it takes part in the Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship in Hilton Head, S.C., April 17-19.
