The Furman Lady Paladin basketball team will travel to College of Charleston this weekend looking for their second consecutive win and their first Southern Conference win of the season.
Furman leads the series 21-8. The last time the two teams met was in the Southern Conference tournament last season, when Chrissy Phelps tallied a game-high 14 points and Katie Johnson added 13 points and nine rebounds to lead Furman to a 64-59 victory over the College of Charleston in the opening round of the Southern Conference Women's Basketball Championships at the North Charleston Coliseum.
The Lady Paladins are coming off a 71-56 win over Charleston Southern in their last non-conference tilt of the season. Sophomore Lee Stephens set a new career high in points with 27 just days after setting a career high with 24 points against Wofford to lead the Lady Paladins.
The College of Charleston is currently 7-7 on the season and 3-1 in the Southern Conference. Their conference wins have come over Elon, UNC Greensboro, and Appalachian State, while their only loss was at the hands of Davidson.
The game will be played in John Kresse Arena on the campus of the College of Charleston with a start time of 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12.
