Furman jumped out to a quick 4-2 lead in the first half before Chattanooga put together an 18-0 run, holding Furman scoreless for more than 10 minutes. Hand sparked the Chattanooga run as she knocked down two of the team's four straight three-pointers, with her second trey coming more than 25 feet from the basket with the shot clock winding down.

Furman's 40 points marked a season low for the Lady Paladins. The previous low for Furman was a 43-point effort against UNC-Wilmington. The Lady Paladins set a season-high in blocked shots with eight, but committed a season-high 28 turnovers, which led to 26 Chattanooga points.

The Lady Paladins failed to make a three-pointer for the first time this season. Furman had hit at least one three-pointer in each of the last 90 games dating back to the 2003-04 season. The last time Furman went an entire game without a three-pointer came in a 57-46 loss at Davidson on January 14, 2004 when Furman went 0-for-6 from beyond the arc.

With the win, Chattanooga improves to 12-6 on the season, 5-2 in the Southern Conference. Furman falls to 6-12 overall, 1-6 in conference action. The Lady Paladins return home on Saturday afternoon to face Western Carolina. Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Timmons Arena.
