GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Coming off a 57-48 rugged home victory over UNC Asheville on Friday, Furman's women's basktball team will make the relatively short drive to Athens, Ga., on Tuesday to face the Georgia Bulldogs in a 7:00 p.m. contest that will be televised over the SEC Network+.

Furman (4-3) has climbed over the .500 mark on the strength of wins in its last two outings, including a 70-67 road triumph over the College of Charleston on Nov. 24.

In Georgia (5-3) the Paladins will face their second of three Southeastern Conference foes on this year's schedule that includes AP No. 6 Mississippi State (Nov. 21) and No. 19 South Carolina (Dec. 30).  Furman is winless in 14 meetings with the Bulldogs over the years, its closest result, a 67-62 loss, coming two years ago in Athens.

The Bulldogs, who topped Charleston Southern, 83-75, in Athens on Sunday, turned back Mercer, 67-60, last Wednesday at home.

Furman got 17 points from redshirt junior guard Taylor Petty and 11 points and 11 rebounds from Tierra Hodges in the triumph over UNC Asheville.  Celena Taborn also contributed 11 points and Le'Jzae Davidson chipped in 10 points, including a late fourth period 3-pointer, that helped seal the victory.

The 17 points represented a Furman season high for Petty, who sat out last year following her transfer from Presbyterian College, where she was named Big South Freshman of the Year in 2015-16.

Furman's lone senior, forward Kaitlyn Duncan, claimed a career high 13 rebounds versus UNCA, which the Paladins limited to just two second quarter points in taking a 27-19 halftime lead and just 29.0 percent shooting (18-of-62) in the contest.

Davidson is the Paladins' only double figure scorer (17.7 ppg) and does most of her work from 3-point range (.343, 23-of-67).

Taborn (9.4 ppg) and Petty (9.1 ppg) follow, with Taborn's .636 field goal percentage topping the SoCon.  The 6-foot-3 sophomore led the league a year ago with a .612 clip.
