Furman senior forward Cierra Carter followed up Saturday's career high 31-point performance in the Paladins' 70-68 win over Ohio with a game high 25 points against the Xavier, but it wasn't enough as Furman fell to 8-4 on the season with the loss.

Carter scored 14 of Furman's 19 points in the second period to help the Paladins erase a 25-13 deficit, her 3-pointer with 23 seconds to go tying the contest at 32-32 heading into intermission.
Another Carter 3-pointer at the 6:12 mark of the third quarter tied it a 39-39, but back-to-back treys by Deja Ross and Dunham put the Musketeers up 45-39 a couple of minutes later. A Le'Jzae Davidson three-point play with 3:30 to go in the third quarter pulled the Paladins to within 45-42, after which Xavier finished off the period with a 7-2 spurt capped by A'riana Gray steal and layup by Kindell Fincher for a 52-44 advantage.
