GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman men's tennis team has been invited to participate in the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic March 18-21, 2010, in Montgomery, Ala. The tournament, which began in 1949, features 16 of the top-ranked tennis programs in the country. Originally an individual competition, the tournament was changed to a team competition in 1983.

The 2010 Blue Gray entrants with rankings are:  Arizona (24), Boise State (20), Fresno State (44), Furman (58), Harvard (63), Middle Tennessee State (57), Notre Dame (31), Oklahoma (47), Oklahoma State (21), Penn State (54), San Diego State (42), South Florida (37), Texas Tech (39), Tulsa (29), Virginia Commonwealth (43), and William and Mary (75).

Furman will open the 2010 season on January 29 at the ITA National Indoor Championships in Gainesville, Fla.
