College of Charleston Snaps Furman Winning Streak

Mt. Pleasant, S.C. - The 59th-ranked Furman men's tennis team had its six-match winning streak snapped in a 6-1road loss to No. 75 College of Charleston at Patriots Point Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon. CofC improves to 13-1 overall and 6-1 in the Southern Conference, while Furman falls to 12-10 on the season, 4-2 in league play.

The Paladins got behind in the match, giving up doubles wins at flight one and two. Furman's only doubles victory came from sophomore Andy Juc and Scott Kahler who posted an 8-6 mark over Justin Malina and Jimmy Petit. Juc and Kahler have won 15 matches this season and are 6-0 in SoCon action.

Furman's lone point in the match came at number five singles. Senior Chris Gilli pulled off a 7-5, 7-5 win over Perry Allen. Gilli is 5-1 against SoCon opponents and has won 12 matches this spring. Juc lost his first-ever SoCon match in a 6-4, 6-0 loss to Or Dekel at number one singles.

Furman will look to get back on the winning track when it travels to Appalachian State on Thursday, April 5 at 2 p.m.
