Men's Tennis Rolls by Washington & Lee, 7-0

Greenville, S.C. - In the first home match of the season, the Furman men's tennis team posted a shutout victory over the visiting Washington & Lee Generals on Wednesday afternoon at Mickel Tennis Center. The Paladins improve to 4-4 on the season, while W&L falls to 1-1 overall.
Furman used new doubles combinations in this match and several Paladins saw their first action of the year. At number one doubles, Brian Crook and Scott Kahler topped Tim Ross and Nat Estes, 8-2. Playing in his first career match, Brandon Flanagan paired with Andy Sobczyk to defeat Jon Malooly and Jamie McCardell, 8-5. The sophomore duo of Ethan Asher and Jason Basile were victorious against Nelson Bunn and Stuart Sanford, 8-4, at number three.
The Paladins recorded two-set wins at all six singles matches. Rookies Eric Olson and Robert Bruner earned their first spring singles wins at Furman with victories at flight four and six, respectively. Freshman Jordan Walters picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win over Seth Feibelman at position two. Sobcyzk, Kahler and Michal Kocieki were also winners in singles action.
