Daniel Knause Position: Volunteer Assistant Coach

Daniel Knause is in his first season as volunteer assistant men's tennis coach after graduating from Furman in 2009.

A native of Greenville, S.C., Knause was named to the All-Southern Conference team three out of his four seasons as a member of the Paladin men's tennis team and compiled a 32-5 record against league opponents while competing at Furman.

He was also a member of the All-Southern Conference Academic Team and the Dean's List.

"Daniel is one of the finest strokers to play at Furman," said Paladin head coach Paul Scarpa. "If he weren't planning to attend dental school in the future, he could become a hitting partner to the professionals, because no one hits it more solid."

Knause will be attending dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston beginning in June.
