Gilli helped lead the 2006 squad to another SoCon championship, reeling off nine consecutive singles wins to start the season en route to a 13-2 record at No. 6. After fighting for a spot in the lineup he had his best year so far with a 7-2 league mark. This high-energy player secured a win in the conference championship match against Chattanooga to help clinch the title. Gilli, one of the 2007 captains, was named second-team All-Southern Conference in singles for his performance last year.
Gilli saw action in seven singles matches and two doubles contests as a sophomore, dropping only one dual. He also won his only match in his first season at Furman.
Prep/Personal: The Atlanta, Ga., native was a high school state champion in three of his four seasons at Marist. Chris is the son of Marcel and Donna Gilli and was born May 2, 1985. He is majoring in business administration and is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
