Singerman & Munns Named ITA Scholar-Athletes

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman men's tennis players Drew Singerman and Jake Munns were named 2018 ITA Scholar-Athletes, as announced this week by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet each of the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman thorough senior year).

Singerman, a rookie from Louisville, Ky., posted a perfect 4.0 GPA his freshman year at Furman.  He notched a 13-10 overall singles record in 2018, playing primarily at flights three and four, and teamed with Ivan Mitric for an 11-7 overall doubles record and 4-3 league mark.

A rising senior accounting major from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, Munns recorded a 3.825 GPA during the 2017-18 academic year and holds a 3.44 cumulative GPA.  Munns garnered All-Southern Conference first team accolades for doubles after teaming with Cameron Green to post an overall record of 12-3 and a 5-1 conference mark in the top doubles position.
