Murray Named To NSCAA/Adidas All-South Region Second Team

Greenville, S.C. - Furman men's soccer standout Patrick Murray has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas All-South Region second team, it was announced this week.

The midfielder, a 2007 NSCAA/adidas All-South Region first team pick and 2007 NSCAA Scholar Athlete All-American, netted five goals and added a team-best six assists to lead Furman to an 11-8-1 overall record and 4-3 Southern Conference mark in 2008.

The Peachtree City, Ga., native was recently invited to take part in the 2009 MLS Players Combine in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., next month. Murray concluded his three-year career at Furman with 10 goals and 24 assists while earning All-SoCon accolades three times.

Last month, Murray garnered ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III honors this after sporting a 3.38 grade point average while majoring in accounting.
