Freshman Eliot Paschalis Garners Southern Conference Player-Of-The-Week Honors

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Furman forward Eliot Paschalis has been named Southern Conference men's soccer player of the week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Paschalis, a freshman fron London, England, scored a hat trick in the Paladins' 4-1 win over Liberty on Sunday afternoon to lead Furman to the Wofford adidas Invitational title. He was also named the tournament's offensive most valuable player.

The freshman currently leads Furman in goals (3) and points (6), while ranking ninth in the league in both categories. Paschalis' hat trick was the first by a Furman freshman since John Barry Nusum scored four goals in a victory over Appalachian State in 1998.

Furman (3-3-1), who is currently riding a three-match win streak, hosts second-ranked UNC Greensboro in a key Southern Conference match Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Stone Soccer Stadium.
