Feb. 11, 2005

Furman men's soccer coach Doug Allison announced the signing of four scholar-athletes to national letters-of-intent this week.

Eric Baffour (North Augusta, S.C.), Andrew Krysiak (Bradenton, Fla.) and Brian Martin (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) will join the 17-time Southern Conference champion Paladins in the fall. Freshman Lewis Chaloner (Auckland, New Zealand) is already enrolled at Furman.

"We are very excited to have four good kids joining our squad who will fit into our team nicely and add physical strength to the program," said Allison. "We also feel like we have added four quality student-athletes to our team."

Baffour, a forward, prepped at North Augusta High School and played his club soccer for the Aiken Fire. A member of the South Carolina Olympic Developmental Program and Region III ODP squad, Baffour is also a part of the United States U-17 National Team pool.

A midfielder/forward, Krysiak played his prep soccer at the IMG Academy in Florida after attending The Pendleton School.

Martin prepped at Whitefish Bay High School and played club soccer for FC Milwaukee. The forward was recently named to the U.S. U-18 National Team pool.

Chaloner enrolled at Furman in January after attanding Mount Albert High School in New Zealand.

Furman, 6-10-2 in 2004, will return five of its six leading goal scorers for the 2005 campaign.
