Furman Kicks In With Haiti Aid

Less than 48 hours after sophomore soccer player Fabien Vorbe returned to Furman University from Port-au-Prince, Haiti his world was turned upside down. A massive earthquake hit his country Jan. 12, killing hundreds of thousands of people and leaving even more homeless. For several days, Vorbe was unable to get in touch with his mother.

Furman To Hold Soccer Marathon For Earthquake Relief

For one member of the Furman University soccer team, the disaster in Haiti literally hit home. Sophomore forward and Haiti native Fabian Vorbe spent the winter break at his family's home in Port-au-Prince. He returned to Furman's campus late on the night of Jan. 10, just two days before the 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti only 15 miles away from Vorbe's house.

Paladin Soccer To Host "Furman Reaching Out To Haiti Soccer Extravaganza" On Friday

The Furman men's soccer team will host the "Furman Reaching Out To Haiti Soccer Extravaganza" to benefit the victims of the earthquakes in Haiti. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and continue until 9 p.m.
