Furman Soccer’s Rowe Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

Greenville, S.C. -- Furman senior Dylan Rowe has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 4 Team, it was announced on Thursday.

Rowe, a native of New Braunfels, Texas, has started 14 matches at left back while helping Furman to an 12-4-3 record and berth in the semifinal round of this weekend's Southern Conference Men's Soccer Championship. The defender has helped the Paladins post nine shutouts in 19 matches this season, including clean sheets over nationally-ranked Denver and Air Force.

Rowe sports a 3.75 GPA and is slated to graduate with a degree in physics.

Furman, unbeaten in its last six matches and winners of three straight, enter the weekend looking to claim its 14th SoCon Tournament title and third in the last four years. The Paladins, who have advanced to the NCAA Tournament 10 times, most recently captured the tournament title and automatic berth in 2014 and 2015.

The SoCon semifinals begin at 3:30 p.m. on Friday at Stone Soccer Stadium with top-seed and regular season champion ETSU battling No. 4 seed Mercer. The second semifinal is slated for 6 p.m. on Friday with No. 3 seed Furman playing host to the No. 2 seed UNCG Spartans. Both matches will be streamed live on the SoCon Digital Network with live statistics available through StatBroadcast. The winners of Friday's semifinals will advance to Sunday's 1 p.m. championship match at Stone Stadium with the champion earning the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. The championship match will be streamed live on ESPN3.
