No. 2 Seed Furman To Host Wofford In SoCon Quarterfinal Round On Saturday
Greenville, S.C. – The second-seeded Furman men's soccer team will host the seventh-seeded Wofford Terriers in the quarterfinal round of the 2012 Southern Conference Men's Soccer Championship on Saturday at 6 p.m. on Seagraves Field at Stone Stadium.
The Terriers played to a scoreless draw versus College of Charleston on Tuesday night to clinch the No. 7 seed and finish the regular season at 9-8-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the SoCon. Furman capped its regular season last Saturday with a 4-3 victory at Wofford in double overtime on a Michael Gandier goal in the 108th minute. The Paladins concluded the regular season at 12-3-3 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play.
The winner of Saturday's Furman versus Wofford match will advance to face the winner of Saturday afternoon's Appalachian State at College of Charleston contest on November 8, in the SoCon semifinals at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. The SoCon Championship Match is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, November 10, at WakeMed Park.
