Men’s Lacrosse Plays Host to Bellarmine on Saturday

Greenville, S.C. – Furman men's lacrosse is back in action on Saturday, playing host to Bellarmine in a 12:00 p.m. SoCon matchup. The contest is set to be streamed on ESPN+ and has been designated as the Fan Appreciation game, with drawings held between each quarter for chances to win a Keurig K Mini, a Roku, and an Amazon Fire. 

Furman (3-8, 1-3 SoCon) is coming off a 15-14 win over Mercer last Saturday, marking the Paladins' first SoCon win of 2019. Alec Van de Bovenkamp made school-record 21 saves on the day, while picking up a team-high four ground balls. William Holcomb led the Paladins with four goals and an assist on the day, while Chad Kreuzer added three goals and two assists. Carson Sorrells netted three goals and Cole Horan caused a team-high three turnovers and picked up four groundballs.

Bellarmine (2-8, 2-2 SoCon) downed VMI, 13-12, last weekend in Louisville, Ky. The Knights held off a furious rally from the Keydets, giving up 10 goals in the second half and saving the game-tying shot with five seconds remaining. Ian Miller tallied a hat trick while dishing out three assists, while Landon Trout equaled Miller's three goals and added an assist for the Knights.
