Greenville, S.C. – Furman men's lacrosse returns to Paladin Stadium after a lengthy road trip, playing host to Air Force in a 12:00 p.m. game on Saturday. The game is designated as Military Appreciation Day, with admission deals available for retired and active duty military.
The Paladins (2-6, 0-1 SoCon) are coming off a 13-7 loss at Richmond on Saturday. Furman was led on offense by Chad Kreuzer with three goals, while Gus Pinsoneault added two. Alec Van de Bovenkamp made 17 saves in 60:00 in goal, while Corey Hall picked up a team-high nine ground balls. On the season, the Paladins are led by Jarrett Birch with 16 goals, while David Williamson and William Holcomb each have 11. Freshman Anders Erickson leads with 11 assists, while Cole Horan leads with 23 ground balls on the year.
Air Force (5-2, 1-0) is coming off a 20-8 rout of Mercer in the Falcons' SoCon opener. Senior attackman Trey Lervick led the Falcons with a career-high nine-points via five goals and four assists, en route to being named the SoCon Offensive Player of the Week. Goalkeeper Braden Host recorded a goals against average of just 3.98 in 45 minutes of work in net for the Falcons against the Bears, making six saves and allowing just three goals against 23 shots for a .667 save percentage before departing in the fourth quarter, leading to a SoCon Defensive Player of the Week nod.
