Greenville, S.C. – Furman men's lacrosse continues its extended time on the road on Saturday, opening Southern Conference play at Richmond. The game is set for a 1:00 p.m. opening face-off and can be seen on ESPN+.
Furman (2-5) is coming back after a week off following a loss at Georgetown. Jarrett Birch leads Furman with 15 goals on the year (18 points), while David Williamson has 11 (13 points). William Holcomb has netted 10 goals and added five assists, while Anders Erickson has turned in four goals and ten assists. Alec Van de Bovenkamp has played the majority of the minutes in goal for the Paladins, making 79 saves.
Richmond (4-3) is coming off a 17-4 win over VMI in its SoCon opener. The Spiders have played a tough schedule so far this season, taking on three teams ranked in the top ten. Ryan Lanchbury leads the Spiders with 23 goals (30 points) on the year, while Teddy Hatfield has 19 goals and 14 assists for a team-high 33 points. Tyler Shoults is third on the team with 11 goals, while Jack Rusbuldt has played the majority of the minutes in goal, making 74 saves.
