Men’s Lacrosse Faces Off Against Sacred Heart on Saturday

Greenville, S.C. – Furman men's lacrosse hits the road for the second-consecutive weekend, traveling to Philadelphia, Pa., to take on Sacred Heart at 11:00 a.m. on the campus of Radnor High School. The teams matched up in a neutral site contest last year as well, with the Pioneers prevailing 17-13 in Baltimore, Md.

The Paladins are coming off a 14-10 loss against No. 15 North Carolina last Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill. Furman was led by Jarrett Birch with four goals and an assist on the day, while Chad Kreuzer added two goals. Four other Paladins added one goal each, while Cole Horan picked up a team-high nine groundballs. Alec Van de Bovenkamp played at 60:00 in goal for the Paladins and made a school-record 20 saves on the day.

The Pioneers are coming off a 13-10 loss to No. 18 Georgetown in their season opener. Defender Joseph Cipoletti was named the Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week after totaling a game-high four caused turnovers to go along with five ground balls in the closely-contested loss to the Hoyas.
