Paladin Golfers in 14th at Collegiate Classic

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina -
Furman's Paladin golf team is in 14th place entering the third and final round of the 49er Collegiate Classic after firing 317-308 for a 625 tally in the first two rounds of competition on Monday.
Ben Goforth (Shelby, N.C.) carded 74-79 and is tied for 30th at 153, while Jordan Felts (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) is tied for 48th at 157 after rounds of 80-77 on Monday. Jonathan Bowden (Easley, S.C.) fired 80-78 on Monday and is tied for 55th at 158, while Garland Ferrell (Greenville, S.C.) is tied for 60th at 159 with rounds of 83-76 to his credit on the opening day of competition. Chris Gilliland (Chattanooga, Tenn.) rounded out the Paladin squad with rounds of 85-77 on Monday. He is tied for 74th with a 162 total at the par 72, 7,116-yard Cabarrus Country Club.
The Charlotte 49ers are at 589 and lead their own tournament entering the final day of competition. The 49ers Ray Sheedy leads the individual standings with a three-under 141 after shooting 68-73 in the opening rounds.
