Paladin Golfers Set To Open Season Saturday At Wolverine Intercollegiate

ANN ARBOR, Michigan - Furman's Paladin golf team will open the 2005-06 season this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24-25, at the Wolverine Intercollegiate in Ann Arbor, Mich.

The University of Michigan Golf course is the site of the annual Wolverine Intercollegiate, and will feature 15 teams vying for the championship. Yardage for the tournament will be 6,704 with a par of 71.

Saturday will feature 36 holes of competition, with the final 18 slated for Sunday. Competition on both days will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun starts.

The 2005 Wolverine field includes Ball State, Charlotte, Eastern Michigan, Furman, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas State, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, Oregon State, Penn State, UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, Wisconsin, and Xavier.

The Furman lineup is composed of junior Ben Goforth (Shelby, N.C.), senior T.J. Blandford (Paradise Valley, Ariz.), and freshmen Garland Ferrell (Greenville, S.C.), Jordan Felts (Myrtle Beach, S.C.), and Jonathan Bowden (Easley, S.C.).
