Furman Men's Golf Tied for Fifth at Francis Marion

Florence, S.C. - The Furman men's golf team finds itself in a tie for fifth place after carding a 588 through the first two rounds of the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate at the Country Club of South Carolina.

Garland Ferrell leads the Paladins after recording 72 in each of his first two rounds. Ferrell, Jordan Felts, and Danny Schmeiding each carded even-par scores in the second round to help lead Furman to a 290 second round.

Furman shot 298 in the first round, but rebounded to post a low score and find itself among the leaders in the clubhouse. Ferrell is tied for 14th in individual scoring through two rounds.

Jacksonville State and Troy are tied atop the leaderboard with a 2-under 574. Furman sits just 14 shots off the lead with the final round set for Tuesday morning.
