Furman's Paladin golf team carded rounds of 303-293 Monday at the Mid Pines Intercollegiate and is in 10th place at 596, 29 strokes behind second-round leader Wichita State.
Furman senior Rob Langley followed up a first round 77 with a career-best 68, and is tied for 16th, five strokes off the lead held by East Carolina's Adam Howell and Wichita State's Derek Smith. Redshirt freshman Chris Gilliland topped the Paladins in round one with a 71, then carded a 76 to fall to 30th in the individual standings. Sophomore Robert Jamieson is tied for 50th after rounds of 77-73, while T.J. Blandford shot 78-76 and is tied for 68th. Senior Ryan Potter rounded out the Paladin effort on Monday with rounds of 81-81, and is tied for 85th at 162.
The third and final round of the Mid Pines Intercollegiate is slated for Tuesday at the 6,528-yard, par 72, Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club. Entering the final round, the Spartans of UNC Greensboro are in second place at 572, while Mercer stands in third and Louisville holds down fourth.
