Furman Golfers Ninth After Opening Round OF Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate

Franklin, Tenn. -- Freshman Jack Ulrich recorded an opening round 73 to pace the Furman Paladins to a first round 302 at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate Sunday at the Ironhorse Course at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.

Ulrich, a native of Southern Pines, N.C., carded an even par 36 on the back nine to grab a share of 10th place with 36 holes remaining. Garland Ferrell and Chris Gilliland each shot 75 and Jonathan Bowden posted a first round 79 to round out Furman's opening day scorers.

Ole Miss and host Vanderbilt share the first round lead at two over par 290 while Chattanooga holds third place at 293. Chattanooga's Mitchell Brock shot a four under par 68 to take the first round lead.

Second round action is set to begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday with final round play scheduled for Tuesday.
