Newport, R.I.. -- Senior Ben Goforth fired rounds of 74 and 75 to grab a share of 11th and help Furman to eighth after two rounds of the Adams Cup of Newport at Newpot National Golf Club on Tuesday.

Goforth (74-75=149) carded a first round 74 on the par-72 layout to lead Furman to a 16-over par 304. In round two, junior Jonathan Bowden (77-73=150) posted a one-over 73 to pace the Paladins and earn a share of 18th place.

Wichita State (289-302=591) holds the team lead after two rounds while Francis Marion's Andrew Pitcher (70-74=144) holds the individual lead by two strokes on the strength of a first round two-under par 70.

Final round play in the Adams Cup of Newport is slated for Wednesday morning.
