Paladin Golfers Hold Fifth At Raines Development Group Intercollegiate

Florence, S.C. -- The Furman men's golf team carded rounds of 298 and 294 to move into fifth after two rounds at the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate at the Country Club of South Carolina in Florence, S.C.

Jonathan Bowden (70-75=145), Furman's top finisher at last weekend's Scenic City Invitational, followed a two-under par first round with a three-over par second round to earn a share of seventh. Garrett Schneider and Ben Goforth each posted even par second rounds to pace Furman to a six-over 294 in round two. Schneider (76-72=148) enters the final round in a tie for 19th while Goforth (77-72=149) is one stroke back in a tie for 25th.

East Carolina used a one-under par second round to open up a three-stroke lead over Western Carolina entering the final 18 holes. Host Francis Marion is in third with Troy in fourth and Furman in fifth. Troy's Michael McGrady (71-69=140) holds the individual lead at four-under par.

Final round action in the 54-hole tournament is set for Tuesday morning at the par 72 course.
