Chattanooga, Tenn. -- Furman's Jonathan Bowden and Garrett Schneider each played the season's first 36 holes at three-under par to lift the Paladins into ninth after two rounds at the Scenic City Invitational in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Monday.
Bowden (70-69=139) followed a one-under par opening round with a two-under 69 to earn a share of 13th place at the par 71 Council Fire Golf Club. Schneider (67-72=139) started the day with a career-best 67 before moving into 13th with a second round 72.
Bowden's second round featured two eagles, while Schneider and Ben Goforth (78-71=149) also eagled the par five second hole.
The Charlotte 49ers (272-271=543) hold a four stroke lead over host Chattanooga entering the final 18 holes on Tuesday morning. Charlotte's Stefan Wiedergruen and the Mocs' Tripp Harris lead the field at nine-under par.
