Aiken, S.C. -- The Furman men's golf team carded rounds of 295 and 302 on Monday to grab 10th place after 36 holes at the 10th Annual Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate at the 6,565-yard Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, S.C.

Robert Jamieson notched an opening round even par 70 to give Furman a share of sixth place after 18 holes of play. Jonathan Bowden fired a 74 while Braden List posted a 75 and Garland Ferrell registered a 76. The Paladins slipped to 10th in the second round as Jamieson slumped to a 79 and list recorded a 10 over par 80. Ferrell and Danny Schmieding posted Furman's low scores in round two at three over par 73.

Virginia Tech (286-287=573) forged an eight-stroke lead over two-time defending champion and host USC Aiken through two rounds. USCA's Matt Burroughs, Elon's Jimmy Lytle and East Carolina's Andre Thorsen are tied for the individual lead at even par entering the final 18 holes.

Final round play in the 54-hole tournament will begin at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday
