Paladins Surge To Sixth Place At Wexford Intercollegiate

Hilton Head, S.C. -- The Furman men's golf team carded rounds of 298 and 304 on the final day of the Wexford Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C., to move from 14th to sixth.

Freshman Jonathan Bowden keyed Furman's second round move firing a two under par 70. Ben Goforth added a second rouns 75 and followed with a final round 72 to complete the Paladins' climb up the standings.

Robert Jamieson scored Furman's best finish with a three-round total of 232 to place in a tie for 25th.

USC Aiken took team honors with a three-round 900 (296-309-295=900) to top Chattanooga by seven strokes. Korey Mahoney (70-71-74=215) of Eastern Michigan claimed individual honors with a one under par 215.

Furman travels to Orlando, Fla., to take part in the USF Invite March 3-5.
