Furman To Travel To John Hayt Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman men's golf team will travel to the John Hayt Invitational this weekend at the par 72, 6,966 yard Sawgrass Golf Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

The 54-hole tournament begins with two rounds on Sunday and will conclude on Monday.  On Sunday, the Paladins will tee off of No. 10 beginning at 8:41 a.m. and play in a group with West Virginia and Coastal Carolina.  Teams will tee off of No. 1 and No. 10 beginning at 7:45 a.m. on Monday.

Furman will be joined in the 15-team field by host North Florida, which is ranked 26th nationally, No. 6 Auburn, UCF, Coastal Carolina, Jacksonville, Liberty, Lipscomb, Louisville, 22nd-ranked North Carolina, North Texas, Purdue, Tennessee, Washington, and West Virginia.

The Paladin lineup includes senior Hunter Nichols, juniors Connor Bruns, and sophomores Keller Harper, Matt Lehman, and Scott Purvis.  Sophomore Jake Reilly will compete as an individual.

"The Hayt Invitational is always a great tournament against a great field," said Furman head coach Todd Satterfield.  "The guys have been playing very well this spring, and we are ready to have a great week."
