GREENVILLE, S.C. --  The Furman men's golf team will open the 2015-16 season this weekend at the Jackrabbit at the par 72, 7,785 yard Prairie Club in Valentine, Neb.

The 54-hole tournament begins Sunday and continues through Tuesday.  Sunday and Monday will feature a shotgun start at 9 a.m. CT, while teams will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday.

Furman will be joined in the 11-team field by Nebraska, Creighton, William & Mary, Tennessee, Central Florida, Missouri, Connecticut, Oregon State, Clemson, and South Dakota State.

The Paladin lineup includes senior Bryce Howell, sophomore Connor Bruns, redshirt freshman Jake Reilly, and freshmen Liam McGrath and Stephen Reynolds.

"We are all excited to get the season started," said Furman head coach Todd Satterfield, who is entering his 21st year at the helm of the Paladin program.  "Our preparation has been terrific, and the guys are ready to go.  It was very competitive to earn a spot for this trip, and that should help us as the year progresses."

Last season Howell led the team with a third-place finish at the Southern Conference Championships, while Bruns was named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team.  Howell posted a 73.9 stroke average over 29 rounds, tops among all of the Furman returnees.

Admission to the tournament is free and fans are welcome.  Live tournament scoring will also be available via
