Paladins To Open 2013-14 Season At Tar Heel Intercollegiate
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman men's golf team will open the 2013-14 season this weekend at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate at the par 72, 7,242 yard UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C.
The 54-hole tournament opens with 36 holes on Saturday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Second round play of 18 holes will tee off Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
Furman will be joined in the field by Boston College, Davidson, Duke, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Gardner Webb, Georgia Tech, Maryland, North Carolina, N.C. State, UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, and Virginia Commonwealth.
"We're all very excited to get the season started," said Furman head coach Todd Satterfield. "I feel good about our focus and commitment this year. Our younger guys have a year under their belts and understand what it take to be successful. We'll continue to strive to get better each day."
